Build your own landing pages? Easy! 🚀

With the new Webflow editor, marketers can now do much more than just tweak a bit of text or swap out an image.

New campaign? New event? Or just a brilliant idea that needs to go live RIGHT NOW? You obviously don’t want to come knocking on our door every time you need a new landing page. Good news: with Webflow’s new editing experience, you don’t have to! 🎉

The old Webflow Editor has made way for a whole new way of working. And while you could previously mainly edit text, images and CMS content, you can now do a whole lot more yourself with the right role and a cleverly structured website.

Like building your very own landing page. Without accidentally redesigning your entire website in the process. You’ll be happy. And secretly, so will we. 😉

Bye bye, Legacy Editor 👋🏼

Let’s quickly rewind to how things used to work. The old Legacy Editor gave you a safe and simple environment where you could update the content on your website.

New text? Easy.

Replace an image? Go for it.

Add a CMS item? No problem.

But what if you wanted to build a completely new page? Add an extra section? Or combine different elements into a brand new campaign page? That’s where the fun quickly stopped.

For that, you needed the Designer and usually a designer or developer to go with it.

Since August 4, 2026, the Legacy Editor is officially a thing of the past. Instead, Webflow now works with different roles and permissions. This means we can determine much more precisely what you can and cannot change within your website.

And there’s an important difference between the Content editor and Marketer roles.

Content editor or Marketer: what can you actually do?

Do you mainly want to keep your existing website up to date? Then the Content editor role is probably exactly what you need. It allows you to edit text and images, manage CMS content and update content directly on the page.

That might sound similar to the old Editor, but the new environment can do quite a bit more. For example, you can edit content inside dropdowns, tabs and sliders, manage assets and, if you have the right permissions, publish changes. Localized content can also be updated from this environment.

Want a little more freedom? That’s where the Marketer role gets interesting. 🔥

As a Marketer, you can do more than just edit content. You can also build new pages using pre-designed components. Think heroes, text sections, case studies, forms, CTAs or FAQs. All elements that we design and prepare for you in advance.

You then decide which building blocks you need and in what order they should appear on the page.

Basically, it’s a digital box of building blocks. Just without those three leftover LEGO pieces at the end that nobody knows what to do with. 🧱

From ‘could you quickly…?’ to doing it yourself

And THAT is what we love about this development.

Let’s say you’re launching a new service next week. Of course, you’ll want a shiny new landing page to go with it. Previously, you would send us the content, we would build the page and you could edit the text afterwards if needed.

Now, if your website is set up for it, you can handle a lot more yourself.

Create a new page, choose a template if you want one and add the right components. Hero at the top. Text section underneath. A few benefits. Nice case study. Form at the bottom. Done! 💥

As a Marketer, you’re not required to start with a page template either. You can start with a blank page and add the available components yourself.

Freedom, yes. But still within your brand identity.

Because before everyone starts dragging blocks around like it’s 2003 again: you don’t suddenly get access to every single design setting on your website. And that’s probably for the best. 😉

The magic is in the components

There is one big BUT to this whole story.

Your website needs to be built for it.

To let you create pages yourself, we work with components. These are reusable parts of your website that have already been designed and configured. Think different heroes, text sections, CTAs, logo sections, testimonials, forms and other content blocks.

We determine the design, styling and ground rules. You can then use those components to build pages and update the content.

That gives you freedom without your brand suddenly ending up with three different fonts, six button styles and a fluorescent green background after you’ve built your third landing page. 😅

Those components can be pretty flexible too. Using properties, we can determine which text, images, links or variants you can change. With component slots, certain components can even contain other components.

The result? No rigid template where everything has to stay exactly where it is, but a smart design system that lets you mix and match.

But… my website has been in Webflow for a while

Then we might need to take a quick look under the hood. 👀

Older Webflow websites weren’t always built with this way of working in mind. They may still work perfectly fine, but if the pages mainly consist of individual sections and elements, you won’t automatically have a library of reusable building blocks that a Marketer can use to create new pages.

In that case, we first need to make the website component-based.

That doesn’t necessarily mean redesigning your entire website. We look at the existing elements, determine which sections can be reused and turn them into smart, reusable components.

It takes a little work upfront, but you get a LOT of flexibility in return. 💪🏼

And editing existing content? That got better too

Even if you have absolutely no desire to build new pages yourself, the new environment is still a big step forward.

Webflow has introduced several improvements for Marketers and Content editors. Content inside interactive elements such as dropdowns, navigation menus, tabs and sliders can now be edited directly. Global content within components can also be changed, with Webflow clearly showing when your edit will affect multiple places across the website.

Want to quickly update something on a live page? Add ?update to the URL of a Webflow page and, if you’re logged in and have the right permissions, you’ll jump straight to that page in Webflow.

No more searching around. We like it. ⚡️

So, how do you build your own landing page?

What does all of this look like in practice?

First, we make sure your website has a strong library of components. We can then prepare one or more page templates for things like campaigns, services or events and give you access with the Marketer role.

Then the fun starts.

Create a new page, choose your components, decide on the order, add your own copy and images and check that everything looks right. Got publishing permissions? Then you can publish the page yourself. If not, someone with the right permissions can give it a final check first.

So you no longer have to wait for us every time you need another section, text update or landing page.

And no, we don’t feel left out. 🥲

In fact, this is exactly how we like it. We build the strong visual foundation and protect the design system. You get the freedom to keep building within it.

More freedom. Without the design chaos. ✨

As far as we’re concerned, Webflow’s new editing experience is much more than just a replacement for the old Editor.

With the Content editor role, you get a more extensive and modern environment to keep your website up to date. With the Marketer role, you can take things a big step further and actually build new pages yourself.

But that freedom starts with a website that’s technically and visually prepared for it.

Is your Webflow website still built using the old approach? We’d be happy to see how we can turn it into a smart component-based structure. So next time, instead of asking “Could you quickly build us a landing page?”

You can just go ahead and build it yourself. 🚀
